Cereal Treat Sunday-An Ode to Chex

December 5, 2010 By Michelle Barneck 51 Comments

Ah Chex, one of the truly classic cereal treat basics! I cannot go through the holidays without a good amount of boxes making their way in to my grocery cart. They are a staple for many of my families holiday favorites. Like the aforementioned…

Muddy Buddies for my side of the family,

Addiction for the in-laws,

and Chocolate Chex Caramel Corn Bars
for the ward Utah vs. BYU game party.

And let’s face it, everyone loves the Original Chex Party Mix. Did you know it has been around for 50 years?! No wonder it brings the salty to holiday treat tradition!

To make things even sweeter, Kroger Family of Stores will have Chex cereal on sale so you can impress your guests without stressing your wallet. For 3 weeks, from December 2nd – December 25th, Kroger will offer Chex cereal at their lowest prices of the year! Wahoo!

Now let’s sweeten the deal one more time!
Chex and Kroger are giving away a gift pack with two boxes of Chex and a $25 gift card to Kroger Stores so you can get everything you need to make your favorite Chex treat!

To enter: Leave a comment telling me your favorite Chex holiday treat.

Giveaway closes Wednesday, December 8th. Good Luck!

My 3 yr old son was a big fan of the gift pack! Here was what I found this morning after sleeping in. He found his own breakfast. Both box lids were torn open and when he couldn’t open the bag he found a scissor. He even put them in a bowl and then proceeded to yell up the stairs, “Daddy, I got some food!” Way to go kiddo!

K, we call Muddy buddies, Reindeer Feed and we only make it at Christmas. I even wrote a story for Primary once about how Reindeer feed came about and how it makes Reindeer fly. I’m thinking of getting it out and re-doing it for this season. love it. In fact, I need some right now.

We made Muddy Buddies for the first time around Thanksgiving and they were a hit, especially with my son with celiac. Love that Chex is gluten free!
