Feature Friday-Blog Swap with Fireflies and Jellybeans
Hello A Little Tipsy Readers! I am so excited to be here with you all today! Michelle has an AMAZING Blog full of fun projects, great reviews and awesome tips! And her All The Married Ladies video rocks! : ) Let me introduce myself!
I am Fawnda from Fireflies and Jellybeans a little DIY blog that I co-author with my best friend Jeannine.
I am a Wife to an AMAZING man and a mom to one son (2 years old) who we adopted from Korea. Our Son is the light of out life!
I am a stay-at-home mom and I work VERY part time as a Math tutor. I love all things crafty and love to share what I know!
Michelle Asked me some questions to help you all get to know me a little better:
What is your favorite crafting tool or secret weapon?
This is a hard one… I really like a lot of crafting tools… But I would probably have to say my sewing machine. I started using it again about a year ago and I have not stopped! I even like to sew on cards that I make!
What is your favorite scent?
Vanilla… I love it… especially body spray from Victoria Secret!
Where did your blog name Fireflies and Jellybeans come from?
Me and my best friend started this blog (almost a year ago) and our names are Fawnda and Jeannine. So, we thought it would be cool to use the two letters from our first names for our blog name. At first we wanted to have them be crafty words, but not too many crafty words start with F or J so, we decided to go whimsical and fun! Jeannine actually came up with the name!
We do lots of fun things at Fireflies and Jellybeans! On Thursdays we get together and show off our stuff at the Show off Your Stuff Party!
I am also hosting a Felt-House-Along. I am showing you how I made a felt play house a week at time! Be sure to check it out!
We also have lots of DIY projects from sewing to home deco. We are thrifty mommas so we are often times reusing/re-purposing things and finding cheap ways to craft!
Today I have a great T-shirt refashion! I looked at the Anthropologie’s site and I noticed that a lot of their shirts have flowers around the necks. Here are a few examples:
- Two t-shirts from my Goodwill pile
- A scissors
- Needle and thread
Isn’t she great?! I totally need to do a little work on some of my old t-shirts!
Thanks for swappin’ it up Fawnda!

New Sew Fleece Blankets and Disney’s Give a Day
Supplies Needed for No Sew Fleece Blankets:
- Fleece (I used 2 yards for each blanket, $4.44/yd at Wal-Mart)
- Cutting mat
- Rotary tool
- Measuring tool
- Masking tape
2. Cut 3 inch squares out of each corner. Mark with masking tape from corner to corner so you know where to cut your fringe to.
3. Cut two finger thick and 3 inch long strips with the rotary cutter down the edges to make the fringe.
4. Fold the fringe up toward the center of the blanket and cut tiny slits in the center of each strip.
5. Pull the end of the strip through the slit. Repeat with all strips going through the slits in the same direction.
I think they turned out really nice and the best part is they went to Project Linus who makes blankets for children in the hospital.

I am a dedicated Smith’s shopper and I willingly admit it. There are a few things that really make them stand out to me.
- I love that they put the price per ounce on the shelf tag. It makes it SO easy to price compare. I can do the math, but that doesn’t mean I want to!
- I love that they always seem to have what I need, whether it be corned beef for our traditional Irish St. Patrick’s Day dinner or pearl barley and wild rice in a bulk section so I can buy just the amount I need to make our favorite soups.
- I love that the prices are always low on things we buy a lot like milk, ice cream, bread, etc.
- I love the new digital coupon program where they load coupons for things you buy often right on to your card. No more clipping and remembering to take them!
- I love that I earn points every time I shop that gets me money back in my pocket. I also love that taking my reusable grocery bags gets me more points!
Ok, so I will stop now, but I just wanted to share this amazing cart buster program with you and let you know to hop over to Kroger before it ends on March 14th!
I also want to share my love of this store with you by letting you try it out for free if you are not already in love with it like me. Kroger is generously giving away a $25 gift card to one lucky reader! Who can’t use some free groceries?!
