Bathroom Rules on the Toilet Lid

May 5, 2014 By Michelle Barneck 15 Comments

We have little boys. This means messes. Imagine boys ages three and six sharing a bathroom. Toothpaste, water, and other things I won’t mention by name (I’m sure you can imagine) around making you crazy. My six year old is in kindergarten which means learning to read. I figured why not take the opportunity to lay down some ground rules for the bathroom with a fun little poem reminder of what to do in the bathroom.

See the entire post.

I found this adorable bathroom subway art poem from Designed by Dawn Nicole and immediately fell in love with it! We have been renovating the boys bathroom and I knew there would not be much wall/counter space with other decor I had planned, but there was a blank canvas right in front of me…a blank white porcelain canvas.

I imported the design into Cricut Design Space and with my Cricut Explore cut it out in gray vinyl. Then just moved it over to the toilet lid with some transfer tape and that was that. Awesome art and bathroom rules in place all in a few minutes!

I’m loving it! What do you think? Would you put bathroom rules on your toilet lid? Or any vinyl design for that matter?

That’s adorable. When I was little my grandmother had a little sign on her toilet that said “If you sprinkle when you tinkle be a sweetie wipe the seatie!” lol

    Hi,
I have a Cricket but I am kind of new on how to use it, which fonts to use and the sizing of the fonts. Can you help me by telling me what size are the lettering you used for this project to print it out all at once, or did you have to use more than one sheet of vinyl to get all of the lettering done? I hope this made sense. LOL
    thank you
    Jenny

      Hi Jenny,

I I used the new Cricut design studio software to upload and cut this design as an image. There is a link to the original image in the post. I did not do any of the fonts or sizes myself. I just uploaded the image and then sized it on the mat in the software too fit my size of toilet lid. I only used one sheet of vinyl on a 12 x 12 mat. Hope that helps.
