Father’s Day Photo Present

June 15, 2009 By Michelle Barneck 11 Comments

So, I am showing you this in good faith that neither my husband or Father will see it before Father’s Day. If they do, surprise…Happy Father’s Day!!

Now that we have that taken care of I can show you what I am doing for Father’s Day this year. I saw this idea in a bunch of different places and loved it. I took my little guy in to Target for the pictures, but you could take them yourself.

I got paper mache letters ($2 each at craft store) to spell Dad and Papa (what he calls grandpa). Lucky for me, I only had to buy 3 letters! Here’s a preview of how you could group them (just ignore that she mixed up Papa). I was cheap and bought the pics separate for $4 a sheet instead of doing a premade grouping for $30 a sheet. I will just put them in frames. I figured I could group them like that later in photoshop if I felt the need.

Then, I took an item that represented them in some way. A duck for Grandpa, since his office has mallard stuff in it and he takes him to feed the ducks and a computer for Dad since, well he is a computer geek.

I was going to change his outfit in the middle, but reality check, we barely got these shots. He is too fast and crazy for us at this age. I love how they turned out. I think his Daddy and Papa will be very excited!

The letters are such a good idea! I will have to try to keep that in mind for a little Christmas present for the husband. I have 3 boys so a little collage of each of them holding a letter would be awesome.
