Are We Real Online?

February 4, 2013 By Michelle Barneck 1 Comment

Last week on Studio 5, I got to participate in a discussion with three of my favorite bloggers about living without pretending and if bloggers are real online. If you missed it, you can see a snippet of it here:

What do you think? Are you real online? Do you think bloggers are?

December 9, 2012 By Michelle Barneck Leave a Comment

Christmas Wish List Giveaway by whatscookingwithruthie.com

10 amazing Blogger’s have come together to give away over $1100.00 in prizes!!

Christmas Wish List Giveaway by whatscookingwithruthie.com

This year for Christmas we thought it would be fun to GIVEAWAY something from each of our Christmas Wish List’s, AND here’s the really exciting part…

A Grand Prize valued at over $600.00!! A Blend Tec Total Blender with 2 jars; the Wildside (extra large) and the Fourside (normal) PLUS the Fresh Blends Cookbook and a special 10 year warranty! CAN you believe it?! We’re so excited! Here’s a little look at what each of our AMAZING blogger’s are giving away…

Ruthie of What’s Cooking with Ruthie
‘On my Christmas Wish List this year is a gift card to the GAP… I love their clothes. The GAP is fun but not too trendy and I especially LOVE it when I find a good sale!! I’m sharing a $50.00 gift card so you can find a really fun item or maybe even catch the After Christmas Sales to find great prices in this fabulous store! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!’
Mariel of Or so she says
‘I love finding new perfumes that I love! But, of course I like to have the stamp-of-approval from my husband, since he’s the one who has to (I mean, GETS to) smell me. So, I usually let him pick them out. Trouble is, he has a phobia of the sales people at perfume counters, which I totally get. So, needless to say, I usually wear the same perfume for years and years. Anyway, this year I’m up for a new smell…it’s time to let Vanilla Fields rest. Just kidding! Remember that one?? I think I was in high school when it was the thing. But, seriously…I want something new, so I thought this perfume sampler from Sephora would be PERFECT. Get this: you get a whole slew of samples from the most popular perfumes and THEN once you try them and find one you like, you can use the included gift certificate to redeem at a Sephora store for a full-size bottle of your favorite scent from the package. I love that! It would be fun to try them all, the hubs would appreciate avoiding the perfume counters, and I would end up with a new scent that I really love.’
Kristen Duke of Capturing Joy with Kristen Duke
‘What I want for Christmas: I fell in love with this vintage bottle/carrier when I saw it. It can be filled with home decor, I’ve even seen it as a hot cocoa bar with 3 main ingredients in each bottle. Great for parties, photo prop, and home decor! Also love anything with chalkboard, and this vintage board, I fell in love with!’
The Sister’s of Six Sister’s Stuff
‘There is something about being able to pick out your own perfect gift – and where better than Kohl’s!? Whether you put it toward a great pair of boots, a new dress, home decor, or the awesome post-Christmas sales, you’re sure to find something you’ll love!’

Maria of The Mother Huddle

‘Well, recently I saw these cute inside out bowls, they are so fun! I think that they are super cute and would be a great addition to anyone’s kitchenware. There are so many cute things over at Anthropology. The winner of my giveaway will get $50.00 to spend on whatever they want!! So go ahead and pick out something you’ve been wishing for this Christmas.’

Michelle of A Little Tipsy
‘The item on my list is a wallet from Ameroonie Designs. They are handmade with laminated cotton and other beautiful fabrics so they hold up without sacrificing design. I love the fun color and pattern combinations! I am excited to give away two; one for you and one for a friend!’

Leigh Anne of Your Homebased Mom
‘The item on my wish list is the Urban Decay Naked Eye Palette. It has actually been on my wishlist for a couple of years now but I keep forgetting to tell anyone! Maybe I’ll get lucky this year and one of my family will see this and buy it for me. I get a little boring with my make up and use the same 3 colors over and over again. The palette contains 12 gorgeous colors that are perfect for everyone! A fun way to spruce up your makeup and have fun and play too!’
Suzanne of You Made That?
‘I love to walk through Kohl’s kitchen department, I end up wanting all kinds of things like Fiesta ware dishes, to table clothes and kitchen gadgets, so that is why a giftcard from Kohl’s is on my wishlist and why I’m giving away a $50.00 gift card too!’
Jamie of Jamie Cooks It Up!
‘I love all of the Paula Deen stoneware. This particular covered casserole dish caught my eye because of the darling scalloped edge and the beautiful color. I have also wanted to purchase her beautiful cutting board. I love that it has measurements for pie crusts, as well as a 14 inch ruler embedded right in the board. I’m always looking for a little extra guidance! This cutting board might be just the thing I need! I hope you love it too!’
Kiki of Kiki and Company

‘I don’t know about you, but my husband always asks what I want for Christmas. He tells me I am impossible to shop for, so I tell him to get me my favorite thing. A gift card! (Boring? Maybe. But practical (and exciting to me…YES!) One of my favorite stores to peruse around is Target. I cannot leave there without spending $50 on anything from home decor to kitchen tools, clothes for my kids or thank you cards to keep in my purse, so today I will give you one of my favorite things..a shopping day at Target with a $50 gift card. Have fun!’

Arkansas at Its Finest

November 18, 2012 By Michelle Barneck Leave a Comment

For those of you who follow me on Instagram its no news to you that I just got back from a little trip down to Arkansas. I had a fun opportunity to be on KATV Power moms segment sharing some fun Cricut Mini projects, but also had a lot of good laughs and a little sampling of the local culture.

Let’s start from the beginning…

On the flight I not only met our newest fan “Hi Lance!” but also did the classic embarrassing moment and hit the wrong button to lean my seat back and instead laid my neighbors seat back…while he was asleep… and woke him up. Oops, sorry guy with awesome accent. I was doing him a favor right?

Once there we (Nathan from Cricut and I) picked up our ride and were on our way. Not quite the mini van I was hoping for, but it did the job. 😉

Next up was lunch and what better way to break us in than sampling the local fare.

Cricut particularly enjoyed our time at the Flying Fish.
Back to the hotel for craft night where we finished off some projects for the segment and made this super sparkly Arkansas shirt. I was a temporary resident after all.

The next morning it was up for the segment bright and early at 5:30 am. Did I mention the fact that I forgot to change my clock from Utah time and woke up 15 minutes before we were supposed to leave? Cause I did. Thankfully I showered the night before and had a chauffeur so I could do my make up in the car. That’s how the hard core people do it.
Lucky for me that didn’t leave me any time to get nervous.

A detailed post on the tins will be coming soon!
So what to do with the segment filmed and 12 hours to burn before your flight? Visit the William Clinton Presidential Library of course. We found this gem drawn by Billy Clinton himself. You provide the caption in a comment…
Cricut was a fan of the cabinet room. He’s ready to run the place.
We declared it bacon day and had bacon at all three meals. The best was Nathan tweeting bacon day and having his phone auto correct it to coronary.
Good times were had by all. Thanks to Cricut for a memorable trip to Little Rock!
