Your Reward is Here!

March 2, 2010 By Michelle Barneck 38 Comments

Remember when I promised you a special surprise if I got my wish of 500 public followers by my blogiversary. Well, here it is in all its glory! Ok, so whether it is actually a reward or punishment is TBD. Enjoy!

No shame. I guess that was my first vlog?! Hey, if April can do a toe touch (just saw that she did a music vid too) I can do a ridiculous lip sync right?! Here are the lyrics since I am so obviously not meant to be a musician.

All the married ladies (7x)

Now put your hands up
Up in the night, I just stayed up
I’m doing my own little thing
Mommy needed some time without your whine
Without nobody callin’ me
I see your socks, and dishes too
don’t pay them any attention
cuz I did my chores, cleaned all those floors
Ya can’t be mad at me

[Chorus]
Cuz you liked it and you went and put a ring on it
ya you liked it then you went and put a ring on it
Don’t be mad once you see that I bought it
Cuz you liked it then you went and put a ring on it

wo oh ooh oh oh ooh oh oh ooh oh oh oh x2

(Chorus)

I got gloss on my lips, a babe on my hips
now I’m tight in my very own jeans
acting up, milk in my cup
I can care less what dudes think
I need no permission, did I mention
Don’t pay him any attention
Cuz you have your turn
But now you’re gonna learn
What it feels like to only kiss me
(Chorus)
woo oh ooh oh oh ooh oh oh ooh oh oh oh

See how much I love you guys! I have had a few people ask, yes I did write the lyrics and yes I am the one singing.

Random facts about me

February 20, 2010 By Michelle Barneck 5 Comments

I am so excited to answer all the questions that Scrappy Gifts sent me! This way I won’t have to pull more out of my endless mind of nonsense. So here we go with the one minute interview. 🙂

Where would you like to go on vacation?

  • I have always wanted to go to Bora Bora and stay in an overwater bungalow. Doesn’t this look amazing?! I would also like to go on an African Photo Safari.
A Water Bungalow at the 5 Star Deluxe Beachcomber Inter Continental Resort, <span class=<span class=

If you could choose your own name, what would it be?

  • Funny you should ask this because I actually kind of did choose my name. In the second grade, I found out we were moving to Utah and thought I would be weird if my name was Emma. So, I switched to going by my middle name Michelle. Funny that now Emma is like one of the most popular girl names out there, but no so much in 1987.

What’s your favorite season and why?

  • My favorite season is most definitely Fall. Those who have been following me for a while will be well aware of this. I did a gazillion fall decorating posts. I love the chill in the air, the crunching leaves, the colors. I love pulling your sweaters out for the first time. I love harvest time when you can find such wonderful local produce. I love back to school shopping (no kids in school yet) and finding 25 cent packs of crayons and 15 cent notebooks. I just love everything about fall.

What do you like best about your home (maybe include a picture)?

  • One of the things I like best is our master bathroom. We tore the entire thing out down to floor boards and remodeled it all ourselves. Ok, so someone put in the gigantic floor to ceiling two person shower (I could stand in that thing all day just basking in the hot water), but we did the rest. I painted the cabinets, which were stained oak. Hubs and bro in law did the tile floors. We got all new fixtures and even a new toilet. I know you love the sticker on the lid.

I bought it as a joke and now the hubs has become rather attached to it. I love the undermount sink and that the faucet is high enough that my two year old can climb up and use it as a drinking fountain. This room gives me a great sense of accomplishment. I just wish it had more natural light. We tried to put a window in the shower, but quickly realized that behind that wall is the chimney.

What are your favorite meals and dessert?

  • Favorite meal is probably when we do fondue for Christmas Eve. Not only for the delicious steak and chocolate fondue, but for the family time and spirit that is involved.
  • Dessert, well, I adore most every dessert. But, I will never be disappointed with a brownie sundae with home made hot fudge or molten chocolate cake.

Biggest pet peeve?

  • Wet socks, there is nothing I hate more than stepping in wetness when just in socks.

Thanks again for all the questions! This is me in a nutshell. Don’t forget the winners for our Blogiversary Week Celebration will be announced late this afternoon! Stop by and see if you are going home with a door prize! Thanks for partying with us!

Oh and did ya see over there on the sidebar that I am so close to my Blogiversary wish of 500 google followers. It’s killing me! I may have a special surprise for you if I get my wish, it may or may not have to do with a certain Glee episode and a certain Beyonce song. You’ll just have to wait and see.

Beautiful Blogger Award and 7 Random Facts About Me

February 15, 2010 By Michelle Barneck 12 Comments

My hilarious and fantastically stylish friend Stephanie over at The Daily Blarg was so kind to give me this Beautiful Blogger Award. And well the only way I could think to thank her was to pass on the love.

The Rules:

1. Thank the person who nominated you for this award and insert a link to their blog.
2. Pass on the award to about 15 other bloggers who you recently discovered and think are great!
3. Contact the other bloggers and let them know they have been chosen for this award.
4. Say 7 things about yourself.

7 Random Facts About Me
1. I used to sleep on the right side of the bed, but moved to the left side when I was pregnant.
2. Yes, I am really quite clumsy. My husband laughs at me almost daily because of it.
3. I don’t go to the gym. I am not very good at working out at home so why add a fee to my laziness?
4. I have ridden in the cockpit of a commercial airplane. I even heard the warning that says you are getting too close to another airplane. Eeee.
5. I have owned three of those little African frogs: Fredrick (pronounced Freedrick), Ginger Ale, and Birkenstock.
6. I once used sea weed to dress up as the Statue of Liberty.
7. I have the same birthday as Donald Duck. No, really. We celebrated together at Disney World for my 21st bday.
K… Here are 15 FABULOUS ladies and their blogs… in random order.

Ok, so now we are going to play a little game. I am going to copy some of my fave bloggers out there and open up the floor for questioning. You are in charge of the one minute interview. You can ask ANYTHING. What would you like to know? I may not answer, but you can ask. 😉 You can also ask for a pic of something you would like to see, like what the inside of my fridge looks like (but, don’t ask that because it is a mess). Every day this week I will one of the questions/picture requests.

If Only I Ate Like My Son

January 20, 2010 By Michelle Barneck 3 Comments

May09 042I’m up on Rocky Mountain Moms blog today. Here’s a little teaser…

I have learned many things since having a child that have changed my life, but there is one thing that has not changed. My diet. I have forever had a sweet tooth and eat far more treats and processed insta-meals than I should. I have always known what I should eat, I was a Community Health major for heaven’s sake (that didn’t last long). It is just the the transition from knowing to doing that has been difficult.

So, what should come to me on that fateful day just over two years ago than a miniature sized health nut.
