50+ Top Blogs All Time Favorite Recipes

August 15, 2011 By Michelle Barneck 2 Comments

It’s here! It’s here!

After literally MONTHS of creating, the “50+ Top Blogs All Time Favorite Recipes” cookbook is HERE!!! You may have seen a sneak peek of this gorgeous recipe book this past month. We hope you have been anxiously awaiting it. πŸ™‚ Now, until the end of August, it’s available for purchase. But wait, scratch that, it’s not a purchase. The best part is…

it’s a donation!

100% of your donation will go to the American Red Cross to help the many people who have been affected by recent natural disasters around the world.

After seeing the devastation in Japan, several top blogs teamed together wanting to somehow make a difference. More than 50 blogs (Little ol’ me included, better believe I ordered one. It’s the only cookbook I’ll ever have my picture in.) donated one of their favorite recipes to be compiled into an incredible cookbook designed by chickabug (design talent was 100% donated as well). Basically a lot of people worked really hard to make something extraordinary. Now, it’s in your hands to make a difference.

This one-of-a-kind cookbook was originally only going to be offered as an E-book for a $10 donation. But after receiving feedback from readers, we realized that many of you want a physical copy. We approached our favorite publisher, Paper Coterie, who was willing to donate 100% of the supplies, and 100% of the cost of printing for this amazing cause. Are you feeling the warm tinglies yet?! We are!!! This started out as one person having an idea. Now over 50 blogs and an amazing publisher are involved and now it’s YOUR turn.

Together we can will make a difference.

The E-book is for sale here for a $1o donation. If you have a computer in your kitchen or an electronic reader, (ipad, kindle,etc.) this is the copy for you. You can just click on the recipe you want from the table of contents and it will take you right there. It’s sweet.

The hard cover cookbook is also available, (wait for it…) for only $10.

You will be amazed at the quality of this book. The only extra expense you will have will be for shipping ($4 or more depending on where you live and how many copies you order).

Thank you, thank you, thank you. You can smile knowing you made a difference to someone, somewhere. And you can smile because you will have a beautiful full color recipe book with gorgeous pictures and delicious recipes to try. We truly hope you love the cookbook. We think you will. You might just want to buy one for your mom, sister, and mother-in-law for Christmas. πŸ˜‰

Remember, the last day to order is Wednesday, August 31!

Please share this post with your friends and family on your blog, facebook, and twitter. Let’s make this go VIRAL! How cool would that be?

Feature Friday {Funkytime}

August 12, 2011 By Michelle Barneck Leave a Comment

Hello to all of you! I am thrilled to be swapping creative ideas with Michelle here today!

See the pic below? That would be me. My name is Sibylle and my blog is called Funkytime. I am a graphic designer/ stylist/ regular German girl with a passion for Photography, DIY Stuff, decorating, & pretty Vintage things.

Enough of me, here are some of my favorite projects:

Plain to Pretty {A Shoe Makeover}

Are you ready to slip your feet into something spectacular? Well, there is some work involved though- and you have to love ruffles….

I took a pair of of plain denim wedge sandals. (Walmart $15) and revamped them with some flower fabric, rickrack and mod podge. The whole DIY is here!

Birthday in a Suitcase

This was a present for my husband, his birthday was in April. When I bought an old suitcase at the flea market, I didn’t know exactly what to do with it. But it was only $15 , ‘worst’ case scenario, I would have painted it white and put it next to my bed as a bedside table. When I saw this cute Birthday in a Box idea, my picnic basket/birthday in a suitcase project was born!

It took me one whole evening, about 4 hours to make, and the total cost including all the plates, cutlery, fabric, suitcase etc… was $55. It even got featured on Design*Sponge. For the whole DIY and more pictures go here.

Soap Wrappers {Free Printables}

Besides all my DIY projects, I always try to squeeze some freebies in for my readers. This time, I designed soap wrappers.

To download go here and for all my other freebies, go here.

Vintage Pulley Chandelier

Another really fun project was my mason jar chandelier. I had an old pulley and a lot of mason jars and simply turned it into a cute chandelier for our new dining room.

You can find the DIY here.

IKEA Kitchen Cart Makeover

Who doesn’t have one of those in their kitchen?! We had this cart for a couple of years now and it started to show its age. I decided to transform it and this was the idea:

Are you curious how it turned out? See the after pictures here!

This is it for today! Thanks again, Michelle, for having me! It’s been a blast!

Best Day of My Life…Today’s Creative Blog

July 27, 2011 By Michelle Barneck 5 Comments

Holy Mackerel, did I seriously just make the A-list?! I just saw that I am today’s feature on Today’s Creative Blog!!! I think it’s because I recycle. I am so excited to be a part of such an amazing group, even though I don’t sew (much)!

Todays Creative Blog

A big thanks to Kim! Who is totally hilarious and shouldn’t leave her camera around. Otherwise she ends up with a bunch of pictures like this…

Me, Stacy

She recently hosted a GNO in Utah because you know she loves us Utah girls. It was so fun to visit with bloggy friends and meet some new ones! There are many reasons to love Kim, one being that she calls me skinny every time I see her. I guess it helps that I was pregnant the first time we met.

She hosts a great party! Lucky for you, it’s like a party every day over at her place… Today’s Creative blog! See you there!

Online Support

July 19, 2011 By Michelle Barneck 24 Comments

Thank you to Yahoo! Mail for sponsoring this post about staying connected. I was selected for this sponsorship by the Clever Girls Collective, which endorses Blog With Integrity, as I do.

As many of you may know, the last week or so has been a difficult time for our family. My husband’s 15 year old sister, one of a set of twins, was killed in a tragic accident involving a clogged culvert that caused the road to give way and create a 40 foot hole. She and my Father-in-law had taken the same road just 30 minutes earlier to take a friend home and could not see the hole in the dark of night. By some miracle, their SUV made it over the hole and hit the grill of the car on the other side with enough force to push them up on to the road. We are so blessed and grateful that my Father-in law survived and is doing well.

Our family has been truly touched by the overwhelming response to our loss. Not only have people shown support through visits, calls and bringing food, but we have all received so much support online. Email boxes are filled with people showing their support and love for our family and our beautiful sister. The pain is real, but becomes more bearable each day as we feel the concern and special thoughts of our family and friends near and far.

{ twins visiting us in 2008}

It has been such a great thing for our surviving twin sister to be able to hop online to find endless messages from all those who love her and want her to know they are there for her. I am so thankful for the technology we have today who help us connect with those across the country who cannot be here, but can be here for us.

Things may be sparse around here while we spend quality time with our family, but I will be back. Thank you to everyone for the love and prayers. It means the world to us.
