I found Julia through a comment here on A Little Tipsy and immediately fell in love with her blog. She has such creative ideas and the digital scrapbooking designs, oh all the wonderful FREE digiscrap elements. But, we will of course get to that a little later! First let’s get to know our friend Julia a little better with the one-minute interview:

What is your favorite crafting tool or secret weapon? That would be paint shop pro. I do just about everything with it. From family home evening handouts to digital website design. Just about any scrapbooking program can be used in a wide range of crafts.

If you were a super hero what would you want your super power to be? Instead of wonder woman I would pick Miss congeniality woman… I would be able to influence everyone around me with good and positive feelings and I would also be able to avoid awkward situations. I think good social skill is an incredible power to have. But also one that I lack. I seem to get myself into a lot of foot in mouth situations. I should be censored by a panel before I speak. Social situations are not my forte.

What is your favorite free digiscrap resource besides your cute freebies? www.digiscrapdepot.com It well organized and FREE!

What is your favorite fall activity with the kids? Halloween Crafts! I have two little boys and they think bloody and scary craft are the best. Right now we have been making Paper Mache Body Parts out of card board boxes. And man are they gruesome!

If they were making a movie of your life story, which actress would you want to play you? A lot of my favorite actresses are way to short to play my 5 foot 10 inch self but I would probably have to pick Kate Winslet. I think she is fierce but can be fun and romantic. Plus, She is not stick thin and doesn’t want to be. I couldn’t have some size 2 woman play me, it would just feel wrong with me being a size 14 and all. But if any one asks I’m a size 12 okay!

Let’s start out with some thing for the kids. She has a free placemat coloring printable. It is adorable and how fun would it be to make it life size, laminate it, and use it as a real place mat where the kiddos can color it over and over each day while they wait for dinner! Or you could update one each day to say what is on the menu. Too fun!
And now a little craft for the adults. Wanna make some easy paper stars? She’ll give you a tutorial so you can get them started early for the holidays. Or heck, use them for what you will they are dang cute and budget friendly!

Not only does she design her own scrapbooking supplies, she paints her own wall murals!! Hello, this is amazing! Ok, so here’s the kicker, she designs digital scrapbooking supplies and let’s us use them FOR FREE! I feel the love, I really do! I mean check out her latest design. Too, too cute!

I’ve “Fall”en and I can’t Get Up!!

I know I have already shown you some of my fall decor, but I went a little crazy and well, I’ve “fall”en and I can’t get up. I can’t get enough of this season and I swear I have some sort of pumpkin on every spare surface in my home. They will be adorning my porch next as my front door is already taken. Here are a few of my latest projects I have proudly displayed.

I got this cute paperback pumpkin idea from The Craft Monkey. I have since added a stem and leaves, but was too lazy to take another pic.

We made a whole bunch of these easy paper pumpkins (Idea altered from Two Peas in a Bucket). We made some small and some big. The top pics are from my house, bottom pics from my sister’s place. She has a front room decorated with hints of giraffe. I love the tiger pumpkin in her tree.

The original idea for these signs came from this burlap boo banner on Everyday Chaos. My sis and I found Halloween colored burlap at Robert’s and decided to do “spooky” since we had enough burlap for that many letters. That evening her friend could only find black burlap. She glittered the letters and they turned out sooo cute! I plan on adding some spiders and things to spice it up.

My sis saw this next one at Ikea. All you do is melt a black candle and drip it down the sides of an orange candle. We put a small black candle in a jar and sat them on my candle warmer to melt. We covered some of the tops with black and left others just around the edge.

I found these corduroy pumpkins with cinnamon stick stems (so cute!) along with the vine and twinkle light adorned multi-candle stand at a garage sale. I stuck them in my fireplace since we never use it. I even cleaned it out with lysol wipes because my son kept sticking his hands in the ash residue. It looks extra festive at night with the lights on.

Can you believe that I have not even pulled out my Halloween decor? These are all items I have made or collected this year. For heaven’s sake. Here are two more garage sale items in the works. They will be “fall”en soon!

Fall Centerpiece

I really wanted a fall centerpiece to dress up my table. I saw these beauties at Dollar Tree and knew they had to come home with me. Not sure what they were thinking with the pattern on those candle pedestals. Nothing a can of spray paint can’t fix!

A coat of heirloom white, a little raffia, and a hole punch for the leaves and I had myself a budget fall centerpiece. Now, if I could just find some toddler repellent to make it stay that way!

Fall Centerpiece Supplies:

Pumpkins $1 each
Leaves $1 for back of 90
Pedestals $1 each
Raffia-on hand
Plate-on hand

If only I could find the perfect table runner. Hmmm.

enJOY the Journey

Today I am finding the joys in everyday life!

Like, the fact that I got to see a baby elephant at the zoo. Seriously, how many people get to see a baby elephant. How adorable is that tiny giant? I so wanted to take it home with me. Alas, I left her with her mommy.

Or putting a sticker on your toilet lid. I found this sticker at Dollar Tree (I know, big surprise) and just had to have it because it made me laugh so hard. It just so happens that it matches my bathroom decor. It makes me laugh and smile everytime I see it. I mean, it’s a sticker for a toilet lid. It made me laugh the hardest when my hubs put the lid down and I heard him from upstairs say, “What the…there’s a sticker on the toilet.” Good times.

Or when your kid gets creative and takes apart his water gun and his drill so he can combine the two. He ran around with it saying “hoot, hoot!” Luckily, he still has not caught on to the whole gun thing.
