A few weeks ago I met my husband’s boss’s wife. She was having a hard time adjusting to the move to Utah and I got to thinking, what better way to make new Utah residents feel welcome than with a gift basket full of favorite Utah products?
Utah Gift Basket contents:
- Lion House Roll Mix
- Taffy Town Salt Water Taffy
- Utah Truffles
- Real Salt
- Stephen’s Gourmet Cocoa – mint truffle
- Idle Isle Chocolates – a Brigham City hometown favorite
- Arctic Circle Fry Sauce
- Daybreak Chapstick (made with beeswax from their bees)
- I Heart Utah card made with cardstock and a foam square
- Basket (TJ Maxx)
Lion House Roll Mix, Salt Water Taffy, Utah Truffles and Real Salt can all be purchased at Deseret Book (I found them at the Fort Union location after scouring the valley for individual items). Real Salt is also available at Whole Foods or Amazon (affiliate link) in the larger shakers. Stephen’s Cocoa is at most Salt Lake Valley grocery stores. Daybreak Chapstick is from Swirly Girls Bakery on Soda Row in Daybreak.
I love the idea of a Utah themed gift basket for a house warming gift for a new neighbor or friend moving in from another state. It is so easy to put together, but is more personal full of your favorites.
What are some of your favorite local products from your area? What do you love to give as a housewarming gift?

Hi! You need some honey in there! (www.thehoneycompany.com for some awesome local stuff!)
Great ideas, thanks! How about some Bear Lake raspberry jam & homemade bread? Don’t forgot a box of lime green Jell-o
I love this! I lived in Utah my whole life til a year ago and did not realize that I would miss a lot of these items so much. I think this would be a great care package for someone who just moved from Utah to give them a little taste of home again. 🙂
There is a SLC company Baker Mills: Kodiak Cakes. They have GREAT raspberry syrup, wonderful high protein pancake mix, granola, scone mixes … … What about a Salt City Candle, or Mrs Cavanaugh’s Chocolates, or Loft House Cookies (Ogden), or local honey… So many great things from Utah.
Oooh, I love Kodiak Cakes Whole Wheat Pancake Mix! Those are all great suggestions!
