Feature Friday-Blog Swap with Making the World Cuter

April 30, 2010 By Michelle Barneck 1 Comment

Hey Tipsy People! I am so excited to be over here on Michelle’s blog! She always has such fun tips and tutorials, and she likes German chocolate cake! I love German Chocolate, and I can’t wait to sink my teeth into those cookies she makes! Although…I would be the only one who ate them at my house and that would be detrimental to my “trying to eat better, at least while I’m pregnant diet.”

Let me introduce myself…my name is Tiffany, you can call me Tiff…I have 3 insanely cute kids that make my world cuter, and me and my adorable husband are expecting baby number four coming this fall. This picture cracks me up with my two boys being so darn serious! πŸ™‚

I blog over here at Making the World Cuter. I am on a mission to make the world cuter, one kid, cupcake or crafty thing at a time! I hope you come over and say hi!I also love photography and have a little photography blog called Pumpernickel Buttons. I hope to start updating that a lot more soon, once the weather in Southern Oregon decides that winter is over!
Michelle asked me some fun questions to answer during this swap, what a fun girl! πŸ™‚
  1. What is your favorite crafting tool or secret weapon? My favorite tool is my hot glue gun. What other tool can help you fake sewing, put together wood projects and about a million other things?
  2. What is your favorite gift you have ever given or received for Mother’s Day? Every year for Mothers Day I give my mom and mother in law a picture of my kids holding the same signs saying “We Love You Grandma.” It’s fun to see them change each year, and the grandma’s love them! Here is one from a couple years back that I pulled out…
  3. If you could spend tomorrow anywhere (no boundaries) where would you go and what would you do? I would spend it with my husband-just me and him, and we would be in Kauai, where we went for our honeymoon. And we would lay on the beach, and eat delicious fresh seafood, and spend all sorts of money on fun presents for me, and maybe a couple for the kids (there are no boundaries on money either-right?).
Here are a few of those “crafty” things that I have made in the recent past that have “cutened” up the world a bit…at least in my opinion! πŸ™‚
This wooden tiled mirror…
I like to do furniture makeovers, this glider is my favorite-it was so hideous before!
I generally do easy and cheap projects (and no I am not either of those things-just ask my hubby), like this burlap wreath with fabric scraps and salt dough buttons.

One of my favorite things to make are napkin rings, here are a couple I have made that I really like, and they were practically free!

I love meeting new blog friends, and really hope you come by for a visit.

PS-I have a party every Monday where you show off how you made the world cuter, it’s super fun, and I would love to have you!

Thanks Michelle for letting me take over your blog!
hugs-
Tiff

This Vase Rocks!

April 29, 2010 By Michelle Barneck 4 Comments

No really, this vase is a rock. Take a rock, somehow drill a hole in the thing and voila a totally cool earthy centerpiece. Can’t wait to show this one to the hubs. I’m sure his mind will start spinning thinking of the drill bit you would have to have to manage this feat. I love it!

I found this little treasure during my trip to Cabo last month with my wonderful, amazing, successful, gem of a sister Amy. Lucky for me she is a big wig at CompHealth (they are #26 on the Fortune’s Best Companies to Work for list. I am convinced it is because my sis keeps them in tip top shape. πŸ˜‰ ) where she earned a spot at President’s Club and picked me of all people to go with her! I spotted this neato rock vase in the lobby bar in our hotel the Fiesta Americana. (Don’t worry, we weren’t drinking, rather playing a mean round of Phase 10.)

Oh, and since I never shared, here is a little feast for the eyes of our trip…

I do a mean pirate face! That last one is a jelly fish that had washed up on the beach.

Here’s to May flowers fast approaching!

Feature Friday-Blog Swap with Infarrantly Creative

April 23, 2010 By Michelle Barneck 3 Comments

Hello Tipsy Readers!
My name is Beckie and this is the face behind Infarrantly Creative…

Infarrantly Creative? Huh…what does that mean?

My last name is Farrant. I am playing off the word “inherent” which means: existing in someone or something as a permanent and inseparable element, quality, or attribute. So I am Infarrantly Creative, pleased to meet you.

I am a DIY gal with a big vision and a small budget. Come join me as I showcase all of my random projects. I do everything from furniture refabbing to sewing, painting, reupholstery, decoupaging, and cooking.

I have been married to my best friend for 11 years. I have an active, rambunctious four year-old boy named Isaac and a sweet, innocent (so far) baby girl named Kayla who is one.
Here are some of my favorite posts (click on the pictures to go to the tutorials).

One of my most favorite things I blog about is Roadkill Rescue. It is the term I have coined when I find something curbside and give it new life. Here are a few Roadkill Rescues…

Feature Friday-Blog Swap with Keeping It Simple

April 16, 2010 By Michelle Barneck 3 Comments

Hello everyone! I am super excited to be here with you today!! Michelle is so talented and I truly enjoy looking through her blog and finding so many great ideas!

Let me introduce myself, I’m Kaysi

from Keeping It Simple.

Keeping It Simple

Here are a few things about me:

  • I am the mother of three boys, ages 5, 3 and 1
  • I have been married to an amazing man for 6 years
  • I love chocolate!!
  • I love color, green is my favorite but brown and blue are up there
  • I like to keep things simple, not overdo them
  • When I get a spare moment, I love to craft or look at crafts
  • I enjoy singing and dancing

Here are a few questions that Michelle wanted me to answer.

1) What is your favorite crafting tool or secret weapon?
My favorite crafting tool are my scissors, I don’t have a Cricut, so they are the next best thing!

2)What is your favorite snack food?
I love to snack on sugar and candy, but especially chocolate!

3)If could get out of doing one chore, what would it be?
I wish that I didn’t have to clean my boys’ rooms. They take forever to clean and it takes them only 5 minutes to destroy!

Each day of the week, I have something different.
  • Motivate me Monday, that’s where I have link party and you get to show me all the cute things that you have done.
  • Tutorial Tuesday, I give a tutorial of a craft that I have done
  • Whatever Wednesday, this is my day that I put anything up.
  • Scrapbook Thursday, this is the day that I post a scrapbook idea or give a scrapbook tip
  • Fridays are the days that I do Blog swaps with other bloggers.
Here are a few things that you can see at my blog:
Reversible Skirt

Decoration
A Dry Erase Board
Cookie Sheet Calendar
Scrapbook ideas

Spiderman Room
You should stop on by and see what else I have!!
Thanks Michelle for doing this swap with me, it’s been fun!

————————————————————————-

Isn’t Kaysi great?! I totally love the cookie sheet calendar. Wouldn’t it be fun to put a really simple activity to do with the kiddos (like read a certain book, dance to a silly song, or go on a nature bug hunt in the backyard) on the back of each number. My little guy would love that!!
