So Little Time, So Little Space

March 1, 2012 By Michelle Barneck 1 Comment

With the pace of the world rarely slowing from light speed, routines and efficiency have never been more important. As the starting and ending point of our day, fewer places carry as big a burden as the home. If cluttered and disorganized, you may be squandering time that could be spent elsewhere. Closet organizers can give you more control over how your storage systems look and operate, ensuring that your routine is as streamlined and efficient as possible.

A Custom Feel That You’ll Appreciate

Besides contributing to the function of your home, closet organizers can add bursts of style to any area, giving you custom closets that are easily usable and contribute to the aesthetic of the room.

Accessories for Spatial Freedom

Inefficient closet layouts contribute to disorganization in the home by wasting space that could be used for storage. In a bedroom closet, rarely is the height used to its full potential for fear of items being too high to access easily. Using a combination of added shelves or hooks, space that may have been made unusable by a traditional layout becomes accessible space, adding a new dimension to your closet’s storing potential.

Any Space Can Benefit

Closets go by many different aliases around the home. One of the many benefits of closet organizers is their versatility–which can be seen in their success in many areas. Living room nooks, kitchen pantries, craft spaces and family room areas can all be upgraded. Give everything a place to be in your home!

Your Home Running Smoothly

Closet organizers that are customized to unique spaces can help keep your home moving on an efficient track. With the time you’ll save, you can take a minute to relax and catch up on important things like a week’s worth of shows on your DVR. 😉

DIY Necklace: Quite a Spectacle

February 29, 2012 By Michelle Barneck 4 Comments

Leap day does not come often, so I wanted to share something special, that you probably won’t see often and is well, quite a spectacle. It is quirky and in true Tipsy fashion totally affordable DIY style! It’s a DIY necklace that makes quite a statement, but what else would you expect from a fun Anthro Knock off?

I shared this about a week ago on Brassy Apple as a part of her fun accessories series, but thought I would share here for anyone who missed it.

Anthropologie version: $498 (no longer available) My DIY necklace version: $7.50
That’s a 98.5% savings. 😉

DIY Necklace Supplies:
6 pairs of reading glasses (dollar store)
Glasses screwdriver
8-10 Jump Rings 12 mm
Chain

1. Gather your glasses and remove all stickers and tags. Use a tiny screwdriver to remove all the screws and remove the frames. Lay six pairs of glasses in a pattern that you like to prepare them to be put together.

2. Connect three pairs of glasses by placing the jump rings through the screw holes. Do this twice so you have two sets of three pairs of glasses.

3. Now connect the sets of glasses with three jump rings so the bottom of the necklace will be more rounded.

4. Add your chain. Use jump rings if it is just a chain. Mine was the chain to an old pocket watch so I just looped it through one side and hooked it on the other.

Now rock your new DIY necklace on and see what a spectacle you can make! And hey if you need reading glasses, you’ll never be short a pair!

If you like this necklace, you might also like our Fabric Necklace, Tshirt DIY Necklace, or Tie Dye Accessories.

DIY Under $5

February 28, 2012 By Michelle Barneck 4 Comments

So things will be slightly different for this week’s party. I was in Maui last week and you pretty much can’t do anything for under $5 in Hawaii so I will be looking to those features from our last party to fill in for me. 😉

You may notice a trend here…accessorizing.

Key Necklace from The Letter Four
Anyone have an old VW key lying around? It just wouldn’t be the same with any other!

Pleated Cuffs from Every Crafty Endeavor
I especially love the blue patterned one!

Patchwork Bible Cover from At Home with Mrs H
Striped Nails from Fit Crafty Stylish and Happy
Love those stripes with the heart!

Link with the highest clicks:

Pop Tab Bracelets from Candy’s Clothes Closet
I saw a belt made like this once. So cute!

What have you been up to?

I enjoy your $5 projects so much that I decided to add an addition link section for anything under $15! That’s right. It will open up a place to show additional projects that can’t be purchased with an Abe Lincoln, but are still totally affordable! I can’t wait to see more from you!

Please remember:

  • Only link to your own projects that cost you $5 or less (price does not have to include items you had on hand) or $15 or less in the 2nd section.
  • You can link past projects that fit the dollar limit, but please only link each project one time to one DIY Under $5 party. Do not link the same project week after week.
  • No linking giveaways or items for sale
  • Please link back so others can join the party and so you have the opportunity to be featured on Saturday!
