CioCo Photography {GIVEAWAY}

March 15, 2012 By Michelle Barneck 8 Comments

We’re taking a short intermission from our de-stash to highlight a super talented friend of mine. Camilla from CioCo Photography (you may remember her from Point of View) took our most recent family pictures and I adore them! She has major talent and makes what could be a totally stressful situation natural and dare I say fun. I love that she captured traditional shots as well as those full of life and personality!
CioCo Photography is located in Salt Lake, but Camilla is available for travel. Cioco does both on location and studio work. I love options! She has experience in family and wedding photography, but specializes in newborn and baby photography. Ready to oooh and aaah or should I say gooo and gaah?

So precious! I did not get newborn pictures of my first son and always regretted it. I don’t want any of you (or your friends) to miss out on capturing those first days of your sweet little one. Lucky for you…

Cioco Photography is giving away a newborn session ($225 value)!

  • Session includes 20 images on a disc , or a $225 credit towards a Watch Me Grow Plan (includes the full newborn, and the 3 month, 6 month, 9 month, and 1 year mini sessions).
  • You, or whomever you win it for, must be able to travel to the session in studio in Salt Lake County.
Also, Cioco Photography is offering 10% off any session booked before March 31st!! Just mention Tipsy when you inquire. *excludes weddings.

DIY Under $5

March 13, 2012 By Michelle Barneck 2 Comments

So, this week I made shoes (espadrilles to be exact) out of an old pair of flip flops and a dark gray t-shirt. It cost me, well…nothing. This is de-stash month after all. See the details on my DIY shoe.

What have you been up to?

I enjoy your $5 projects so much that I decided to add an addition link section for anything under $15! That’s right. It will open up a place to show additional projects that can’t be purchased with an Abe Lincoln, but are still totally affordable! I can’t wait to see more from you!

Please remember:

  • Only link to your own projects that cost you $5 or less (price does not have to include items you had on hand) or $15 or less in the 2nd section.
  • You can link past projects that fit the dollar limit, but please only link each project one time to one DIY Under $5 party. Do not link the same project week after week.
  • No linking giveaways or items for sale
  • Please link back so others can join the party and so you have the opportunity to be featured on Saturday!

DIY Shoe

March 13, 2012 By Michelle Barneck 13 Comments

I know what you might be thinking. DIY shoe, really? I know, sounds weird. But, they are really quite easy and turned out pretty darn cute. Ok, enough talk, let me show you. Espadrilles anyone?

Perfect for the weather that is right around the corner. It was 65 degrees here yesterday! We grilled for dinner! Granted there is probably more snow in my future, but I can pull out these babies on those sunshiny days. How do you make a DIY shoe of your very own?
Supplies:
  • flip flops with thick soles
  • scissors
  • t-shirt
  • xacto knife
  • gorilla glue
  • clamps

I started out with one of these. Yep, an old flip flop sole. I bought these years ago, but the straps rubbed so I only wore them like 5 times. They need to be the thicker ones so that you can slice the sole to place your fabric (aka old t-shirt).

Follow the fabulous tutorial here.

The only thing I did differently for my DIY shoe was my strap hole did not go all the way through the flip flop so instead of securing the strings with knots through the sole, I inserted them in to slits on the sides and glued them like the thicker straps.
So what do you think? Totally free de-stash project #2. (See project #1 Tshirt Necklace) Stay tuned for more fun refashion and upcycle projects as we de-stash all though March!
