The t-shirt, a trusted friend on a summer day. We probably all own more than we would like to admit. But, the t-shirt can be so much more than the casual day jean companion. We’re prepared to show you five out of the box ways to refashion this closet staple.

Here’s my clip from the Studio 5 segment today:

1. DIY Shoes
Turn an old t-shirt and a pair of flip flop soles into some super comfy sandals.

2&3. Swim Suit Cover & Headband
With the most beginning level of sewing, a 5XL shirt can become a ruffly swim suit cover and matching headband.

Dress up a t-shirt with another t-shirt, a t-shirt made in to accessories of course. How about a Rosette Necklace and Ruffled Infinity Scarf?

4. DIY Necklace

All you need for this run necklace is a t-shirt, scissors and a glue gun.

5. Cascading Ruffle Infinity Scarf

If you can sew straight lines, you can make this scarf.

St. Patrick Shirt

Pinch proof your kiddies with a fun St. Patrick shirt reflecting their heritage! If you have Ireland somewhere in your bloodline, show it off.

All you need is a shirt some green flocked heat transfer and a craft cutter! Be sure to mirror your design so your words won’t be backwards!

Iron on according to package instructions and you’re all set!

Nivea #SharetheSensation Challenge & Giveaway

Valentine’s Day brought the delivery of a dozen roses from my sweetheart, but also the delivery of a challenge from Nivea. They asked me to switch out my usual lotion and try out their Smooth Sensation lotion for 7 days. “If they want to tackle my winter skin” I thought, “bring it on!”

Winter for me means spiky dry legs. I’m being oh so real here. I am known to shave only once a week and with no sun on them for months my poor gams are as white and dry as the desert we live in. No one knows right, I wear pants all the time. Ya, no one knows except for my husband who gets to share sleeping quarters. Poor guy. I even whine to him about how itchy my legs get from not seeing the sun in months.

So I tried the lotion and you know what. It was great. I even shaved my legs multiple times this week. Impressive right?! My skin was smoother, my legs didn’t itch and my feet saw a vast improvement. I even noticed how awful our new sheets are (I bought cheap ones because the color was right, but everything else is oh so wrong.) because my feet were so much more sensitive lacking the layer of dry ugliness. I’m rather pleased with the whole experiment and well, so is the hubs! He is all smiles. I even got a foot rub! Woot woo!
