Duck the Halls with Duck Tape Stockings

December 17, 2013 By Michelle Barneck 2 Comments

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Duck Brand provided by ShurTech Brands, LLC for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

We love Duck Brand® Tape for tons of fun craft and gift wrap options, but have you seen their Holiday designs? They have holiday bows, snowmen, candy cane and more that are perfect to Duck the Halls with holiday cheer. We love them for decorating packages for the mail, making in to bows for gift wrap and more! Today we used it for a last minute gift idea when we were going to visit the Great Grandparents. We wanted to take them some holiday sweets and decided a stocking would be the perfect way to wrap them up.

All you need is some cardstock, a roll of Duck Brand® Tape, and scissors.

I drew out a stocking template that would fit on a 8.5″ x 11″ sheet of cardstock, but would be wide enough to get the treats out since tape doesn’t stretch.

You can download my stocking template, or draw your own. Cut out two stocking shapes out of the cardstock. Tape the top of each one placing the center of a strip on the top one of the stocking pieces and folding half down each side. This gives it a nice finished edge. Repeat for the other piece.

Then, place the stocking pieces on top of one another to start attaching them. Put a line of tape just overlapping the top piece and going over the left edge about a half inch, folding it over to adhere the two stocking pieces. Extend the tape around the right side to cover the back and align with the half inch that wrapped around.

Once you get down to the curvy part of the stocking, cover the front and trim the tape so it just overlaps to the back just enough on each side to hold the stocking pieces together and seals it shut.

Finish the back of the stocking by covering with lines of tape and trimming them to the edge.

Add a few treats and you have a cute and easy gift for neighbors or friends!

The kids gave them to their great grandparents and you should have seen their faces light up!
