August 7, 2011 By Michelle Barneck 2 Comments

The August Visiting Teaching message is titled, “A Society of Holy Women.” It talks about our important duties to serve others, honor covenants, and watch over each other.

I have had a lot of people asking how to print the visiting teaching handouts. You can right click the image and copy. Then, you can paste it in to word and re-size and copy as necessary for how many you want on a page. You can also right click and save, then open with Windows Photo Gallery which allows you to print choosing your paper size. These are technically 5×7. but you can choose a smaller size.

July Visiting Teaching Message: Come to the Temple and Claim Your Blessings

July 3, 2011 By Michelle Barneck Leave a Comment

The July Visiting Teaching Message is about the importance of the temple. There is a lot of good content in the July Message, but this sentence was the one I thought was best for our handout this month.

I am excited that they are building a temple in my home town, Brigham City.

June Visiting Teaching Message: Strengthening Families through Temporal Self-Reliance

June 9, 2011 By Michelle Barneck 8 Comments

This month’s visiting teaching message is about self-reliance. I have been thinking about this a lot lately while reviewing my food storage and planting a garden. I love how this months lesson gives a large list of talents we can develop to become self-reliant. There is also a great story from Julie B. Beck about the great example her Mother-in-law was in the area of self-reliance.

We have been so lucky to have not been largely effected by the recession, but I have watched as close family and friends have struggled. It has me really motivated to be prepared for the unexpected.

For instance, we decided that instead of doing something fun with our tax return (which trust me I would have liked to do), we would put it toward paying advance months on our mortgage. That way, if something did happen we would not have to worry about that payment for a couple of months and our house would be safe.

May Visiting Teaching Message

May 17, 2011 By Michelle Barneck 2 Comments

The May Visiting Teaching Message is your choice from the LDS General Conference Messages. I chose LDS Women are Incredible by Quentin L. Cook. I loved this talk and it was in the Saturday morning session so I figured some people may have missed it.

All my software and digital scrapbooking materials went kaput with my laptop so I made this using Picnik. It was so easy! You could make your own visiting teaching handout if you want to use a different quote from conference.
