Come Follow Me Week 10: Compassionate Detours Printable

February 28, 2019 By Michelle Barneck Leave a Comment

I was preparing a home lesson  (Come Follow Me, Week 10, Matthew 8-9, Mark 2-5) for my family and stumbled upon the idea of compassionate detours from a Don’t Miss This video (around minute 5:40). In short, it talks about following the example of our Savior always having compassion on those around Him. Taking the time to minister to them no matter what he may have had planned for that day. David and Emily from Don’t Miss This talk about taking the time for compassionate detours in our day. Being aware of and helping those around us. Listen to it, it’s fantastic.

Anyway, I wanted a visual reminder to hang in our home. Something reminding of the concept of compassionate detours and making room in our days for these opportunities. I figured you might like it as well so decided to share it here.

So many great lessons about miracles performed by Jesus are found in Come Follow Me week 10. This program has been a huge blessing in our lives though with four kiddos has not been without it’s struggles. I do see them picking up little golden nuggets so it makes it all worth it! I am teaching my extended family this Sunday so I am so thankful for so many awesome resources for different age groups. We will have ages 2-78.

There is another printable from Hey Friend referencing the Don’t Miss this Video I totally plan on using. It refers to the question “What Would Jesus Do?” and answer “He Would Love First.” She shares so many great printable and lot of links to songs, videos, etc!

I hope you enjoy Come Follow Me home study this week and drop me a line if you use the printable!

Halloween Gift Idea: Spider Web Nails

October 13, 2014 By Michelle Barneck 1 Comment

I love a good pedicure, but there’s not always time (especially since I just had my third boy a few weeks ago). I thought it would be fun to put together a simple gift for those who could use a little pampering (teachers, friends, daughters), but may not have the time to head to the spa. This way their toes will be spookified for Halloween and they don’t even have to leave their house! How about some spider web nails for a haunting Halloween gift?

Halloween Nail Gift IdeaAll you need to put this gift together is …

  • Black Nail Polish
  • White Vinyl
  • Cutting Machine
  • Free Smell My Feet Printable
  • Spider Ring
  • Treat Bag
  • Candy Corn
  • Ribbon

I used my Cricut Explore to cut my vinyl because it can rock tiny designs. I measured the size of my big toenail (which was about 0.75 x 0.5). Then, found a spider web image I liked and sized it to fit. You can use my cut design here to make things simple if you like. Then, just weed out the unneeded vinyl  pieces from the web so it looks like two stickers on a sheet. You can use transfer tape to place the design, but I just peeled them off like decals and placed them where I liked on my nail. Cover with a clear coat or two to waterproof. I did not include clear nail polish in the gift because I figured everyone has that.

I made a fun Halloween printable tag to put on the gift and continue with the theme. It is sized to fit two on a 4×6 photo card.         Trick or Treat Smell My Feet Printable

Now to finish off the gift, put the spider ring on the nail polish bottle, place them in the bag with two spider web vinyl decals and some candy corns and tie the tag on with some ribbon. It’s as easy as that!

Fall-gratitude-printable

I love Autumn and all the fun that comes with it. But one of my favorite things about this season, is the opportunity to reflect on what I’m grateful for. This quote helps me remember that I have enough and I should be grateful for everything I do have.

I hope you enjoy it too. Download the free printable for yourself below.
