Belated Birthday Gift

June 23, 2010 By Michelle Barneck 7 Comments

Anyone else feel a little behind lately? Just because you might be late doesn’t mean you aren’t thoughtful. šŸ˜‰ Here is a belated birthday gift I took to my YW adviser and friend. The card reads, “I’m so sorry I missed your birthday. I give you official permission to light this candle, blow it out, and make an extra birthday wish!”

I went with a vanilla candle since it seems to be a scent everyone likes, plus it is a neutral color that matches any decor.

Flower Table Cloth Weights

June 21, 2010 By Michelle Barneck 19 Comments

I love those disposable plastic table cloths for birthday parties and summer BBQs, but they are pretty plain and annoying in the wind. I decided to make some Flower Table Cloth Weights to keep the table cloth in place and also add a bit of flair. It is so easy to make your own and they work really well!

Supplies needed:
Clips with a hole in the top
Flowers
Glue Gun
Glue sticks
*all my supplies were purchased at Dollar Tree. I know big surprise. šŸ˜‰

Since I bought stems of white daisies at the dollar store, they were kinda sparse. I pulled them apart and combined the petals of two flowers to make them look nice and full.

Before putting the green back on again, I added some glue to the stem to make them stay together better.

Then just add glue to the green stem and stick it through the clip hole.

It’s as easy as that! Then just scrunch up the bottom of the table cloth and clip the flower on.

To store, place flower down flat in a gallon ziploc bag.

I made 8 flower table cloth weights which used 8 clips and 16 flowers. You could make 10 weights with 2 packs of clips and 3 bunches of flowers ($5).

Feature Friday: Blog Swap with I Heart Naptime w/ Chocolate Sundaes

May 7, 2010 By Michelle Barneck 1 Comment

Hey! I’m Jamielyn from I ♄ naptime w/ chocolate sundaes!

I’m excited to be swapping with A little Tipsy. I love her title…I definitely find myself a little “tipsy” these days!
Michelle asked me a few fun questions…so here they go!!

1. What is your favorite crafting tool or secret weapon?
I would say my cricut! I got it last Christmas, and it has saved me so much time! No more tracing circles with a paper plate, or cutting out paper hearts…it does it ALL for me and SO much more! Oh and I SOO want the Cricut Cake…but just can’t justify that one.

2. If you were an ice cream topping which would you be and why?
I would be homemade chocolate syrup, because what else do you need then a big fat
chocolate sundae?? Especially during nap time šŸ˜‰

3. What is your favorite Mother’s Day present you have either given or received?

I would say the cards from my hubby! They are so sweet, and remind me that I am a good mother!

I’m going to share with you a few of my favorite posts. Click the link to find the tutorials.

Isn’t she great?! I really do need to get a handle on my ribbon storage. Her little holder is super cute, though I would need two or three. Yep, it’s that out of control! Thanks Jamielyn for swappin’ it up!

Well, not only do they take a great picture, they dole out fantastic ideas! But, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Let’s start it off with the one minute interview.

1. What is your favorite crafting tool or secret weapon?
My favorite craft tool would have to be mod podge, actually a toss up of that and glitter! Is glitter a tool..lol! and mod podge holds the glitter fantastically and makes anything new and clean!

2. If you were a Disney character, who would you be and why?
If I were a Disney character I would love to be Cinderella…..She is my very favorite princess because she overcomes her problems with hope and faith and finds true love and happiness in the end without ever hurting those who hurt her!

3. What is your favorite accessory?
I would have to say SHOES! I love me a pair of fun funky shoes to dress up even the most casual outfit! If you know me I will even wear shoes with a slight heel with sweats..!! FUN!

Now for the real fun! You will not believe some of the wonderful things she comes up with!

Marshmallow Valentine Pops How fun for neighbors, teachers or friends!
