Here are some great deals for those of you in the Utah area!

My friend Melissa told me about this one. Right now, K-BULL 93 has $50 gift certificates for Jason’s deli for $25 listed in their Incredi-bull deals.

97.1 ZHT has Half Off hookups that change every so often. Right now, they have $50 gift certificates for Hollywood Connection for $18. They also have a deal for people without dental insurance to go to Apex Family Dental for a cleaning and exam for $5 (value $159). AMAZING! The funny thing is this is my dentist! Out of all the dentists in the Salt Lake Valley it is mine who is doing it so I can tell you from experience they are great!There are a ton of other listings too, so go see what might interest you.

Utah’s Real Deals posts a new deal every Monday. It is announced on Good Things Utah on ABC4 between 10 and 11am. Right now the deal is half off a Utah Kids Club Membership. For just $6, you get discounts to over 100 family fun centers.

Gardening Gift Wrap

My mom really wanted this gardening book for Mother’s Day. A surprise since my Dad did all of the gardening up until now. But, what mama wants, mama gets. We had a few other things for her, but she wanted this early so she could use it to plant today. Though she knew what she was getting and knew she was getting it at a family dinner on Friday night I could not just hand her the book. So I grabbed some ribbon and made one of those flower pens. (Luckily, we made little bouquets of them with our Young Women for their moms so I had all the supplies!)

My Mom loves to underline interesting parts in books so a pen was a natural addition. I included a flower card that matched the flower on the pen and Voila, a garden themed wrap. Now I just need to decide how to wrap the rest of her gifts for tomorrow night!

Mother’s Day Tradition

Today, after weed whacking the entire garden area full of 3 ft. weeds, I decided that I am going to start a new Mother’s Day tradition in my family. Instead of receiving gifts from my hubby and kid(s) I want the Saturday before Mother’s Day to be “mom’s day”. The first half of the day will be spent with everyone doing whatever I ask with no complaining (ya right, I know. I am hoping if I start while my son is 17 mos. he will not know any better). Service is my “love language” so this is my dream! It will be an amazing time to catch up on projects or assign chores I am dying to have done.

To keep morale high and keep the tradition going, the evening will be spent having a fun dinner and family activity like game night or going mini golfing. Doesn’t this sound AMAZING? Now I just have to go break the news to my family. Wish me luck! 😉

I just told my hubby and it was far less painful than I anticipated!! Woo hoo! I can’t wait for next year! I think he might be counting on the fact that I forget, but I won’t!!!
