Review & Giveaway: Canvas Press 16×20 Photo Canvas (now closed)

April 7, 2010 By Michelle Barneck 301 Comments

When I was contacted by Canvas Press to review one of their photo canvases, I was excited, but skeptical. I had ordered canvases from other companies in the past and was deeply disappointed with the quality and coloring. I ordered my 16×20 gallery wrapped family portrait canvas online (which was a snap BTW) and hoped for the best.

From the minute I started opening the package, I knew this experience was going to be far more positive! The canvas was so carefully packed to keep everything intact and perfect.

I was astonished at how beautiful it looked! The colors were vibrant and true to the picture and the quality of the canvas was right on point. It was mounted on a quality wood frame that was built to last. I love that it was made right here in the USA!

I hung the canvas on the stairway in my entry way so all those entering will be able to see it. I am so very pleased with the look, but also with the ease and speed of ordering. I truly could not have asked for more.

*edit: My family picture was taken by Brett from Photo Studio B.
He does an amazing job and makes the shoot so much fun!

Here’s the best part. I am so thrilled that Canvas Press is giving away a 16×20 gallery wrap photo canvas (including shipping, a $115 value) to one of my lucky readers!

To enter: (Please leave a separate comment for each entry with an email address!!)

  • Leave a comment on this post telling me what photo you would choose to print on the canvas.

Kroger Stores Cart Buster Savings & Giveaway

March 10, 2010 By Michelle Barneck 63 Comments

First off, the winner of the Diaperdoo Diaper Clutch is Erin!

Now back to our regularly scheduled programming. 😉

Saving money on groceries is top of mind these days, and with the Cart Buster Savings Event EXCLUSIVELY at Kroger and the Kroger Family of Stores (Smith’s Marketplace for me), the prices are so low you can stock up on all your favorite brands without breaking the bank (though you might bust your cart!)

From now through March 14th, shop the Cart Buster Savings Event and find the hottest prices around on your favorite name-brand products in over 60 categories at the Kroger Family of Stores, which includes Kroger, Ralph´s, King Soopers, City Market, Dillons, Smith´s, Fry´s, QFC, Baker´s, Owen´s, Jay C Food Stores, Hilander, Gerbes, Food4Less, Pay Less Super Markets and Scott´s Food & Pharmacy.

Here are just a few of the great brands participating in the event: Honey Nut Cheerios, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Pillsbury, Betty Crocker, Hamburger Helper, Yoplait, Progresso, Totino´s, Green Giant, Tide, Charmin, Bounty, Pampers, Pantene, Crest, Iams, Febreze, Old Spice (you know that commercial made you laugh!) and many more!

I am a dedicated Smith’s shopper and I willingly admit it. There are a few things that really make them stand out to me.

  • I love that they put the price per ounce on the shelf tag. It makes it SO easy to price compare. I can do the math, but that doesn’t mean I want to!
  • I love that they always seem to have what I need, whether it be corned beef for our traditional Irish St. Patrick’s Day dinner or pearl barley and wild rice in a bulk section so I can buy just the amount I need to make our favorite soups.
  • I love that the prices are always low on things we buy a lot like milk, ice cream, bread, etc.
  • I love the new digital coupon program where they load coupons for things you buy often right on to your card. No more clipping and remembering to take them!
  • I love that I earn points every time I shop that gets me money back in my pocket. I also love that taking my reusable grocery bags gets me more points!

Ok, so I will stop now, but I just wanted to share this amazing cart buster program with you and let you know to hop over to Kroger before it ends on March 14th!

I also want to share my love of this store with you by letting you try it out for free if you are not already in love with it like me. Kroger is generously giving away a $25 gift card to one lucky reader! Who can’t use some free groceries?!

Shabby Apple Nine to Five Dress Review

March 9, 2010 By Michelle Barneck 2 Comments

When Shabby Apple contacted me to do a review for them I was no less than thrilled! One look at their dresses and I was hooked.

Dresses from Shabby Apple

It was like Christmas when my dress came in the mail! It was wrapped so neatly in some olive and lime tissue paper. I hardly wanted to destroy the cute packaging, but how could I not tear right through it to get to my dress!

My first dress was actually the Anchors Away, but I did not notice the “This dress FITS SMALL a slightly snug, ‘true to size'” in my ordering excitement. I put on the dress and LOVED it, but they do not lie when they say it fits snug. I worried that when I washed it, it would become a little too snug. So I sent the dress back (it cost like $2) and they sent me the Nine to Five Dress.

When I pulled it out of the packaging I was a little scared at first. It was so not what I would have chosen. I was worried I would look like a potato sack. It was a lot of Jersey and I was scared that my tummy bulge would be out for everyone to see. The horror. To my wonderful surprise, the minute I put it on I fell in love! The color and details were amazing! I am letting someone else choose for me from now on!

The hubs went on and on about how HOT I looked. Not a bad response to receive. I wore it to church on Valentine’s Day and I have never received so many compliments including “You’re looking great!” and “I love your dress, you look amazing and tiny!” I had heads turning as I walked down the hall. One of my friends said, “I love all the details. it makes it look so modern.”

Did you like my little fashion show right there? Add a belt, wear it plain, mix it up. Did I mention the comfort level? It was like walking around snuggled in the softest, yet nicely breathable blanket. I could live in this dress, though I would take it off to wash it once in a while.

So now that I have expressed my deep and undying love for my Shabby Apple Five to Nine dress, I would like to do what I call a little Shabby Apple runway show. Here is a little preview of some of my faves (click on the pics to be taken to that item’s page):

Oh and uh, did I mention the accessories? Love, love, LOVE!

Now to tug at your heartstrings a bit. Shabby Apple donates 5% of its net dress sales to support work in India. I love this! Every $100 donation from Shabby Apple Dresses provides at least 20 women with access to financial services – and the chance to live a life without poverty. Each new Shabby Apple dress features a unique hang tag with a micro-credit success story.

Shabby Apple has a line for you no matter what stage of life you are in. Check out their maternity and baby collections:

I am totally loving that Shabby Apple is a Utah company. Gotta support the locals when I can right! Oh and one last little thing to mention, Shabby Apple is offering $20 off any purchase of $150 or more through April 4th!

Kirstikoo Diaper Clutch Review & Giveaway

March 4, 2010 By Michelle Barneck 80 Comments

As a matter of business, the Fandangling winner is Chrissy B! Thanks to all who entered and remember you can get 20% off using code Fandangling10 until the end of June.

Now, I wanted to share this cute little etsy shop Kirstikoo. Kirsti sent me this adorable Diaperdoo diaper clutch and I am loving it.

It makes it so easy to switch from bag to bag depending on what I want to carry for the day! With my little guy being two now I don’t have to carry the full fledged diaper bag so this is a nice alternative to store the essentials.

And don’t you love how it just happened to coordinate with the other purse accessories I got in a favorite things swap! I love these colors!

<span class= Silky Superhero Cape (You pick superhero) <span class= Flowers and Dots Bibs- Set of 2 <span class=
