Mummy Halloween Treats

October 16, 2014 By Michelle Barneck 2 Comments

I love a fast and fun holiday treat for class parties or to hand out to friends. These Mummy Halloween Treats will put a smile on the recipients face and yours too as they are so easy to put together.

Mummy Halloween Treats

I love how the eyeballs looks like they  just woke up in a daze. All you need for these cute little mummies are three ingredients…

INGREDIENTS: (affiliate links below)

  • Hostess Ding Dongs
  • Ghirardelli White Candy Making Wafers
  • Candy Eyeballs

Ding Dong Mummy Ingredients

Just melt the candy wafers according to package directions and use a spoon to drizzle side to side over the Ding Dongs. Add two eyes while the white candy is still wet and then let dry.

They’re cute to pop in a bag to hand out to family, friend or classmates.

Or add a stick if that suits your fancy. I just covered a popsicle stick with washi tape slid it in the side and added a bow.

Either way, this spooky treat is all set to spread some Halloween cheer!

Halloween Gift Idea: Spider Web Nails

October 13, 2014 By Michelle Barneck 1 Comment

I love a good pedicure, but there’s not always time (especially since I just had my third boy a few weeks ago). I thought it would be fun to put together a simple gift for those who could use a little pampering (teachers, friends, daughters), but may not have the time to head to the spa. This way their toes will be spookified for Halloween and they don’t even have to leave their house! How about some spider web nails for a haunting Halloween gift?

Halloween Nail Gift IdeaAll you need to put this gift together is …

  • Black Nail Polish
  • White Vinyl
  • Cutting Machine
  • Free Smell My Feet Printable
  • Spider Ring
  • Treat Bag
  • Candy Corn
  • Ribbon

I used my Cricut Explore to cut my vinyl because it can rock tiny designs. I measured the size of my big toenail (which was about 0.75 x 0.5). Then, found a spider web image I liked and sized it to fit. You can use my cut design here to make things simple if you like. Then, just weed out the unneeded vinyl  pieces from the web so it looks like two stickers on a sheet. You can use transfer tape to place the design, but I just peeled them off like decals and placed them where I liked on my nail. Cover with a clear coat or two to waterproof. I did not include clear nail polish in the gift because I figured everyone has that.

I made a fun Halloween printable tag to put on the gift and continue with the theme. It is sized to fit two on a 4×6 photo card.         Trick or Treat Smell My Feet Printable

Now to finish off the gift, put the spider ring on the nail polish bottle, place them in the bag with two spider web vinyl decals and some candy corns and tie the tag on with some ribbon. It’s as easy as that!

Intel Tablet Giveaway

October 10, 2014 By Michelle Barneck 148 Comments

#spon: I am in a partnership with Intel. They provided a tablet for the giveaway.

I am a tablet lover. It’s true. Managing a family of five is increasingly hectic so if I can have one thing that can be used to store recipes, entertain my kids, read emails, sync my family’s calendars, and fit in my diaper bag by darn I am a fan. Admittedly our family owns three: Mom’s, Dad’s and one passed down to the kids when Daddy got a newer version. Dad loves it to read, Mom checks the weather on it to dress the kids every morning and the kids love a wealth of games and videos they can hold in their little hands.

Now I believe in sharing what one loves and what better time to share than at the beginning of holiday shopping season?! Could you use an extra tablet? I believe we all could and if you can’t I bet you know someone on your Christmas list who can use one of these Intel Tablets and friends that will make a mighty fine gift.

So what do I love about this particular tablet? Well besides the fact that it has an 8 inch screen, 16 GB of storage, a 5 MP camera, and 9 hours of battery life, it comes in four fabulous colors including the totally on trend gold. But wait, there’s more. It is on Amazon right now for the family friendly price of just $199!! What?!

Now on to the Intel tablet giveaway.

TO ENTER simply comment below answering this question…

“What would you use the device for or why would you like to win it?”

That’s it! We’ll choose a winner from the comments. Good Luck!

Giveaway will run through 10/17/2014.

I love Autumn and all the fun that comes with it. But one of my favorite things about this season, is the opportunity to reflect on what I’m grateful for. This quote helps me remember that I have enough and I should be grateful for everything I do have.
