Box Tops for Education-Walmart Gift Card Giveaway {now closed}

With the new school year rapidly approaching it's time to start thinking about how you can support your kid's education. Some parents join the PTA, others donate supplies, and some eat cereal. You know the kind with the box tops that donate to your school. I have a stack of them in my top drawer that go to my niece about once a month since I don't have a school aged kid yet. It make me feel good to hand over a baggie of cardboard stubs that will help buy new scissors and dodge balls!

The Box Tops for Education program is an easy solution and this year Walmart is making it even easier! From Aug. 3 - Aug. 31, head over to your local Walmart to find 4 Box Tops on participating General Mills products and earn more cash for your school.

With over 20 brands and 40 products participating, here are just a few that include 4 Box Tops that you can find at Walmart this August: Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal, Pillsbury Toaster Strudel pastries, Chex mix, Betty Crocker Cake Mix, Hamburger Helper skillet meals, Totino’s Pizza Rolls snacks, Nature Valley Granola Bars and Betty Crocker Fruit Roll-Ups snacks. Be sure to keep an eye out for Box Tops on Kleenex, Ziploc, and Hefty too!

Now let's sweeten the deal and give you some money to spend on these awesome products and collect your own baggie full of box tops. Courtesy of General Mills and MyBlogSpark, we are giving away a $25 Walmart gift card! Now that should get you on your way for back to school!!

To enter: (include email addy so we can contact you!!)
  • Leave a comment telling us what must have item you will be purchasing from Wal-mart this back to school season.

That's it! Easy as 1,2,3! Giveaway will close Thurs, Aug 12th.

FTC Disclosure: I was provided this info, gift card and giveaway by General Mills through MyBlogSpark.

We purchase almost all our school things from Walmart: clothes, shoes, supplies, and lunch box fillers! My son doesn't like hot lunch so we buy granola bars, sandwich fixings, dried fruit, and juice boxes from Walmart.

Well, my daughter is in pre-school and we just pay a supply fee to her teacher for supplies. However, we do buy snacks, cereal, fruit and juice from Wal-Mart!

I am doing a co-op preschool with my four year old and a bunch of other kids this year and there are several supplies I still need to get. This would really keep us from going over budget, since we don't really have it in the budget. Thanks!

Amanda Joy said...

I don't have any school age kids yet, but I do have an 18 credit hour husband. He is gone so long during the day, that having some energy boosting snacks, like granola bars would help:)

The must have that I have to get for my son's first year in school. He starts kindergarten! I just know that I'm going to cry.... Anyway, it would have to be all of the many school supplies that he needs to bring. Oh and I want to get some pencils, vase, ribbon and flowers to make a cute floral arrangement for the teacher on the first day.

My daughter starts KG next week. I've been saving my box tops all summer. We actually got all her school supplies already at WalMart. But that GC would come in handy to buy food for school lunches!

I don't have school age children yet but I always give a big bag full of supplies to my local elementary school. My dad was a teacher and I love teachers!!

I buy lots of pencils and crayons, scissors, notebooks and glue. I also get some craft supplies like construction paper and stickers. My dad spent alot of his own money to buy supplies for his classroom when his supply money ran out and I admire him for doing that. I think many other teachers do that too just for the love of the children!
