Yep, it’s a day early. So go out there and get your VT done already. ;) Don’t be a slacker like me and wait until the last week of the month. You know your sisters are going to want this pretty September handout!

Get Permanant Marker Off Granite Countertops

Surprise! My little guy left me a message on my granite counter tops with a sharpie. I guess he wanted it to live in my heart forever. Too bad it only lasted about 10 seconds after I saw it. I grabbed a magic eraser (the one from the dollar store of course) and bye bye “permanent” marker. Oh how I love magic erasers!

Feature Friday-That Went Well (Bargain Tips)

Today’s Feature Friday is a site I ran across a couple of weeks ago that I have already seen the fruits of!! Todd and Erin’s “That Went Well” is chuck full of super savings and free offers. They will let you in on great deals at all sorts of your favorite places. Trust me, you do not want to miss this one.

If you live in Utah you may be familiar with Todd and Erin from the radio station B98.7. If you are not, here we go with the one minute interview. Aren’t I cool interviewing local celebrities! ;)

  • What is your favorite crafting tool or secret weapon? My cordless drill. Honest. You can’t believe what you can do with lumber scraps, a DeWalt cordless and two bored 9 year olds.
  • What is the craziest thing that ever happened to you while on the air? Hmmm…first “F-bomb” dropped from this cute little Irish lady was was the oldest living waitress from the Hard Rock Cafe, we were paralyzed with horror. But, it sounded kinda cute in an Irish accent so we didn’t get fired. We’ve broadcast the show through all manner of natural disasters…an earthquake, a tornado, a brush fire…
  • If you could have any other profession what would it be? The Todd is insistent that he would make a great diamond heiress, but I’m not seeing that in his future. For me? I would hate to leave radio, because where else can you raise money for a new liver for a 6 year old, hold a Slumber Party for 2,000 girls and meet Bono and the rest of U2 in a single week? It’s nuts, but what a ride! :)

Can I just say that it is awesome that she calls her hubs The Todd. I’m going to start calling mine The Jared. Ok, maybe I can’t get away with that. Darn.

Erin sure has done it with her blog. I have already received a free 11×17 wall cling from Walgreen’s and am picking up my free 8×10 photo collage today. It is like a fun game hopping on there to see what you can save on or try free next!

Here is my photo cling from Walgreen’s. It actually sticks right to the wall and you can move it around until you find the right spot.

I would show you some of the great deals, but they are updated and change so often, that you’ll just have to see for yourself! They are getting a face lift this weekend so stay tuned to see their pretty new duds!

Great tips Erin and The Todd! You are now entered in the Hall of Fame as Tipsters of the Week!

Oh, and if you are going to Erin’s slumber party tomorrow night, look for me! I’m totally going to be rockin’ my bright yellow and green track suit (if I dare, I currently feel as if it should not be worn out of the house).

I Love to See the Temple-Hand Print Spires

As many of you know a new LDS temple (Oquirrh Mountain) was dedicated on Sunday. I felt really blessed to be able to attend the dedication and hear some wonderful uplifting words. My sister and I traded babysitting so that we could each attend a session. One of my favorite things said was something like this…You have a room in your house for eating, you have a room in your house for sleeping, you have a room in your house for TV, but do you have room in your house for Christ?”

I decided that it would be fun to have some Sunday appropriate temple activities and mementos for the kiddos to remember this special day. I found a cute temple coloring page on Mormon Share to start them off. Then, I shrunk down the picture of the new Oquirrh Mountain Temple from LDS.org and printed them each a wallet size copy to keep. I meant to ask my niece how she felt about the new temple and record it for her journal, but ran out of time.

When googling “I love to see the temple coloring” I saw this quote in the third listing. “I love to see the temple. (put fingertips together to form a spire)” I got soooo excited!! How cute would that be, hand print temple spires. I clicked on the listing, but it turns out it is just actions to the song, not an actual art activity. Not anymore. I just traced the outline of their hands on a piece of paper with the angel Moroni printed at the top. It would be really cute to use finger paint or ink so you could see the detail of their tiny hand. It is almost like they are raising their little hand saying, “I love to see the temple.” Sorry if you are gagging now. See it on the fridge below.

The best part about this activity was today when we walked in to the kitchen to get a snack today, my son looked up pointed at the fridge and said, “temple.” Aaah, my heart fell out of my chest. Then, I got a good laugh as I realized I have 7, count them SEVEN, temple pictures on my fridge. Hello.

1. Lists our old wards goals, but they are good so I keep them up there.
2. My mini temple calendar where I keep track of what day we went to the temple each month with a little gold temple sticker. We went tonight, so dear me, that makes 8 temples on the fridge now.
3. A cute little card from Deseret Book that has part of the YW theme “Make and Keep Sacred Covenants.”
4. A magnet of a gorgeous photo of the SLC temple that his talented Aunt LaRae took. We bought at hubs family reunion.
(these two help hold a temple wedding announcement, he he)

5. The wallet size of the new Oquirrh Mountain temple
6. The coloring page
7. The hand print spires

I guess you could say that “I love to see the Temple.” hardee har har
